This request is made pursuant to the Maine’s Freedom of Access Act.
Maine's Freedom of Access Act is designed to make sure the public is fully informed about decisions being made by their local government. For example, making sure the public is lawfully notified of proceedings.
Maine law requires elected officials and public access officers to engage in training associated with the public’s right to access information. See “training required” under § 412(1). As part of this, each person is required to make a written or electronic record attesting to the fact that the training has been completed. See “certification of competition” under § 412(3).
This request seeks copies of all such written or electronic records associated with training that has been provided to persons who are elected, appointed, or employed to represent the City of Biddeford as of the date of this request. For sake of clarity, this request simply seeks to see the written or electronic records that were lawfully preserved to demonstrate everyone currently representing the City was trained as required by law.
