The City has been proactive in working with the private sector to stimulate more than $100 million in private investments over the last decade, with an additional $200 million of new, mixed-use private investment, including just over 1,100 residential units to be developed in the near term. 

The City of Biddeford is looking for a part time Custodian for our rapidly growing Community Center. Flexibility with scheduling needed as position may require some weekend and evening work. Must have the ability to work independently and interact in a professional manner with public.

  • Perform custodial duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting
  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces, including desks, tables, and countertops
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs
  • Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in cleaning preferred
  • Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
