Homelessness Awareness and Winter Apparel Drive

The Biddeford Youth Advisory Council’s second project was a partnership with Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center. At the 2019 Downtown Tree and Menorah Lighting, the group hosted a bake sale with all proceeds to be used to purchase critical items that are on Seeds of Hope’s Amazon Wish List. Each baked good included a fact about homelessness in Maine. The group also handed out informational sheets and pamphlets to raise awareness about Seeds of Hope’s mission.

The group also ran a winter apparel drive out of City Hall throughout December and collected a large box of hats, scarves, gloves, coats, and more that will be distributed by Seeds of Hope to those in need.
