Payroll/AP Clerk
The City of Biddeford is seeking a staff accountant to join their growing Finance team. This position will be responsible for all aspects of Payroll Administration and Accounts Payable in addition to assisting the Deputy Finance Manger on related Ad hoc reporting or analysis as required by Finance Director and other Department Heads.

Min Required qualifications:

4 Year Degree with focus in Accounting or Finance or equivalent years in experience

At least 2 years managing payroll and payroll reporting

2 year’s min experience in General Ledger Accounting with focus on Payroll and Accounts Payable

Proficient in Excel and Microsoft related products

Experience with Munis Municipal accounting software preferred

Experience working in a Municipality or government accounting department preferred

Energetic willing to learn and cross train

Job description:

*The position reports to the Finance Director under supervision by the Finance Deputy

*Responsible for all aspects of Payroll Administration to include:

*Weekly payroll management, generation and payroll maintenance and general ledger reconciliations relating to payroll

*941 Qtly report preparation, Year End W2 preparation

*Worker’s Compensation audit

*Work collaboratively with Human Resource department on payroll administration, Munis payroll system maintenance and ad hoc reporting as need

*Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable to include:

*Generate weekly AP Warrant

*Vendor maintenance to include tracking COIs, W9’s, vendor set ups, yearly reviews

*Year end 1099 reporting

*AP Trial Balance and related general ledger reconciliations, reporting on expenses

*Analysis and tracking of expenditures for various funds as required by the Finance Director

*Work closely with Deputy Finance Director to support accounting projects as required
