The City of Biddeford’s Recreation Department has a great opportunity for a seasoned lifeguard with open water experience. We are searching for a dedicated and responsible individual to manage Rotary Park lifeguard service.
Individual will assist in the recruitment and hiring of lifeguards, responsible for supervision, training, testing, scheduling, oversight of this active and family friendly beaches during operating hours, care and upkeep of equipment, prevention of accidents through enforcement of policies, rules and regulations related to beach use.
Position Outline: Have experience in working in lake, river or ocean conditions have current Lifeguard certification, First Aid and CPR with AED, ability lead lifeguards in training in areas such as grid searches, active and passive victims, proper use of rescue equipment, open water conditions, missing person.
Must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team, be self-motivated, effectively communicate with all levels of employees and citizens, be well organized, extremely reliable, dependable and punctual.
Able to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports, ability to lead by example.
Season runs Mid- June – Labor Day, 40 plus hours per week. Requires weekend and holiday work. $16.50 - $18.50 / hour.
