Biddeford Recreation Department

Camp Counselor: ($15- $16 per hour)

Do you want to make an incredible difference this summer? Do you like working with children? Do you want to have fun at work? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions a camp counselor position may be the role for you! The camp counselor position is a full time seasonal position, working with children ages 5- 14 in our summer day camp programs. Must be at least 15 years old with a valid work permit. Responsibilities include planning and implantation of activities for children in a day camp setting, where safety and responsibility for children comes first.  Must be able to be a team player, follow directions, have a positive attitude, a safety mindset, and be an excellent role model for children. CPR/ First Aid certification provided! Work period is Monday- Friday, from June 13- August 18. 

 

Assistant Camp Director ($17- $17.75 per hour)

This is a full time seasonal position working to support summer camp children (grades K – 5) and staff. Must be at least 18 years old and have experience working in a day camp setting.  Experience in a leadership or managerial role is desired. Working with the Camp Director and other Camp leadership, the assistant director will oversee camp operations and day-to-day logistics while providing support with scheduling, planning, transportation needs and personnel issues. Experience working directly with parents and families and young adults is a must. Work period is Monday- Friday, from June 13- August 18. 

 

Inclusion Coordinator ($18.00/ hour)

This is a full- time seasonal position working with our day camp programs. The Inclusion Coordinator will identify, assess and coordinate plans for success for children with disabilities who attend camp, with the goal for each child being a successful and rewarding camp experience. Must be comfortable working with children with disabilities and their families. The Inclusion Coordinator must be at least 20 years old and have worked with children with disabilities or have equivalent educational experience. Work period is Monday- Friday, from June 13- August 18. 

 

Summer Camp Bus Drivers ($20/ hour, 35-40 hours/ week)

We are looking for bus drivers for our 8-week summer camp program.  Drivers will be guaranteed 35 hours per week regardless of weather or cancellation of trips. Schedule is Monday-Friday, June 20- August 18. No camp July 3 or 4. Responsibilities include cleaning, prepping and inspection of busses, and driving children and staff to and from area venues. Must have a current CDL license.  “S” endorsement preferred.
