Good afternoon,

Thank you for your Freedom of Access Act Request. I am seeking clarity on what information you are looking for with item #2 on your list prior to conducting a search for records.

The agreement between the City of Biddeford and the Teamsters Union Local No. 340 (https://www.biddefordmaine.org/DocumentCenter/View/7270/2021-2024-Police-Contract-PDF) shows the salary calculation for all Biddeford police officers. Salary information starts on page 13 of the document. Are you looking for this general information, or are you looking for a list of the names and salaries of each specific employee at the Police Department?

Item 1. On our website, you can find a list of all Police Department staff and their titles: https://www.biddefordmaine.org/Directory.aspx?DID=29. The City of Biddeford does not assign badge numbers the way that many Police Departments do, where each employee is assigned a number that stays with them throughout their career. Badge numbers are instead associated with rank in the organization. If someone is promoted, they will receive a new badge number.

Please be advised that under MRS Title 30-A, §2702, records pertaining to an identifiable employee that contain complaints, charges or accusations of misconduct, replies to those complaints, charges or accusations and any other information or materials that may result in disciplinary action are confidential and not open to public inspection. Therefore, I cannot complete a search for these records.
