After School Program Site Director

Qualifications and Skills

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the afterschool program at a designated location (BIS, BPS). Oversight of 4 - 8 counselors. Responsible for safety and supervision of approximately 50-60 children ages 5-12.

  • Experience working in an afterschool, camp or school setting with children ages 5-12
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • CPR and First Aid Certified preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and a team player

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Programming planning and implementation in accordance with the programs’ curriculum and philosophy
  • Oversight of daily site operations
  • Schedule staff and activities each week
  • Maintain communication with Cub Care Director via weekly meetings, emails, text, etc.
  • Provide supply requests to CC Director
  • Maintain a safe, organized space
  • Communicate with parents daily, maintain open communication between staff and parents
  • Manage behavior issues with program participants
  • Maintain records such as attendance, schedule and time sheets
  • Report any suspect child abuse to supervisor in compliance with mandated reporting
  • Attend in-service and staff meetings as required
  • Facilitate personnel issues among staff
  • Participate with Director in evaluation of staff and program
  • Perform any other duties assigned as deemed necessary by the Cub Care Director or YFD for smooth operation of the program

Special Requirements

  • CDL Driver’s License (Preferred)

Education

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience

  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Supervising: 1 year (Preferred)

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
