The City Council is considering an ordinance change that would require dogs to be leashed in Clifford Park, including on all park trails, and is gathering feedback from the public about this proposed change.
Members of the public can share comments about this proposed change on Our Biddeford, our public participation platform, through Wednesday, July 12 or attend the Public Hearing at the Tuesday, July 18 City Council meeting. The meeting will begin at 6 PM. Public participation will be welcome in person in the City Hall Council Chambers (205 Main St) or via Zoom.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: Dogs Off-Leash at Clifford Park
Notice is hereby given that the City of Biddeford will hold a public hearing regarding this amendment at its City Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 6:00 pm at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 205 Main Street, Biddeford, Maine.
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments on:
Code of Ordinances, Chapter 10, Animals, Article II. DOGS, Section 10-31. Running at large on public ways prohibited; restraint required, be amended by deleting to read as follows:
(2) Clifford Park: Dogs may be off leash and under voice command on designated trails in the wooded section of the park. This section is defined as the wooded area of the public park and 100 yards from all trail heads and parking areas.
All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and will be given an opportunity to be heard at that time.
